Any and All
Musings
I was writing an email today.
I had written the phrase
“any and all”
Gmail suggested to replace it with just
“all” for conciseness.
At Amherst, I had a law professor who adored brevity
And despised the “wickedness” of verbosity.
I think about him during times like these.
I imagine a tiny version of him behind the screen making these suggestions
With his brows furrowed, lips pursed, and an air of disapproval around him.
I decided to keep “any and all”.
I thought it sounded quite nice.
